FG100 — Standard Bend with a Softer response

The Genesis FG100 is a zero-carbon fibreglass stick for players who want a forgiving composite feel and a conventional Standard Bend.

Why choose the FG100?

Choose this stick when soft response, manageability and core skills are the priority. It gives a composite route without assuming that more carbon would automatically be better.

Standard Bend / shape

Standard Bend is Mercian's straighter, conventional route for core skills and is a natural starting place for many younger players. The FG100 uses a junior-shaped mould designed around that purpose.

Softer response

The FG100 sits in Mercian's Softer response band. Its construction is fibreglass-rich with 0% carbon, deliberately prioritising flex, touch and forgiveness.

Construction, touch and control

  • Fibreglass construction: provides the flexible base and softer response.
  • Junior-shaped mould: supports manageable handling in the current junior size range.

These features help explain the finished stick. They do not replace the more important bend and response decisions.

When another current option may suit better

Within Softer, compare CF5 for a low-carbon composite route or W1 / W1+ for wooden-core options. None is automatically better; they solve the same broad soft-response need with different constructions.

Sizes

The current product is configured in 30", 32" and 34". Live availability is shown above.

OUTDOOR STICK GUIDANCE

Check the player requirement before you buy.

Outdoor choice starts with fit and the hockey you actually play. Bend, shape and construction should explain a useful difference, not create a good-better-best ladder.

Is the length workable? What hockey must it support? Would a specialist shape help the way you play? Which response can the player use?

Position, player level and carbon percentage can help describe a stick, but none of them automatically decides what suits you.
