Genesis CF25i — Low-bend shape with a Softer / Balanced response
The Genesis CF25i is for indoor players who want Mercian's Low-bend shape with a response that remains controlled and forgiving but is firmer than the CF5i.
Why choose the CF25i?
Choose the CF25i when you want a Softer / Balanced response for controlled passing, lifting and drag-flick capability, and 36.5" or 37.5" is the right fit.
Its construction uses 25% carbon over a fibreglass skeleton. The useful choice outcome is the response and feel; the percentage describes construction and is not a quality or player-level score.
Low bend / shape
The current CF25i specification uses a 23.5 mm maximum bend at 230 mm from the head. The Low-bend shape supports indoor passing, lifting and drag flicking without making bend a progression ladder.
Softer / Balanced response
The CF25i sits in Softer / Balanced in Mercian's current indoor response range. Its fibreglass-rich construction supports touch and forgiveness, while the higher carbon content than the CF5i contributes a firmer response without becoming a suitability score.
Useful technology
- M-Gel vibration control: absorbs vibration through the handle.
- Nano-polymer resin: strengthens the bond between composite layers.
- Lightweight indoor profile: supports quick reactions and fluid handling.
When another current option may suit better
If you want the same Low-bend shape with a softer response — or you need 32", 34" or 35" — compare the Genesis CF5i.
If your hockey genuinely benefits from Ultimate shape and a more direct response, compare the Evolution CKF75i. Those are different requirements, not upgrades and downgrades.
Sizes
Current CF25i variants are available in 36.5" and 37.5". Length is a fit and handling decision, not a player-level rule.

Check fit, shape and response before you buy.
Indoor choice is deliberately compact: make the length workable, choose the shape you need, then compare response and feel across the complete current indoor range.
A larger carbon number is not a player-level score. Compare the current indoor range first, then use price and stock to choose between suitable options.
