CKF85 Xtreme — Xtreme shape with a Balanced / Direct response
The Evolution CKF85 Xtreme is for players whose hockey genuinely benefits from specialist Xtreme shape and who want a Balanced / Direct response.
Why choose the CKF85 Xtreme?
Choose this stick when Xtreme shape solves a real reverse-stick or 3D requirement and you want a response that sits between Mercian's balanced and most direct constructions.
Xtreme bend / shape
Xtreme is Mercian's specialist route for reverse-stick lifting and 3D play. The CKF85 Xtreme specification gives a 24.5 mm maximum bend at 200 mm from the head, a 2 mm concave shaft profile and a 4-degree face twist.
Balanced / Direct response
The CKF85 Xtreme sits in Mercian's Balanced / Direct response band. Its current construction combines 85% carbon, 10% fibreglass and 5% Kevlar.
Construction, touch and control
- High-friction face finish: increases contact friction and adds damping.
- Nano-polymer resin: strengthens laminate bonding and helps reduce delamination risk.
- Tungsten Carbide Diffused Kevlar: supports durability.
- Piezo-electric fibres: provide additional vibration management.
These features help explain the finished stick. They do not replace the more important bend and response decisions.
When another current option may suit better
If you want to keep Xtreme shape with a softer response, compare CKF55 Xtreme. If you want a more direct response, compare CF95 Xtreme. The shape stays specialist; the response is the main remaining trade-off.
Sizes
The current product is configured in 36.5" and 37.5". Live availability is shown above.

Outdoor choice starts with fit and the hockey you actually play. Bend, shape and construction should explain a useful difference, not create a good-better-best ladder.
Position, player level and carbon percentage can help describe a stick, but none of them automatically decides what suits you.
