2023 legacy model. The Genesis FG100 remains a valid Mercian choice where the player's fit and preference for a softer, forgiving response match. It is previous-generation stock: price and remaining availability are purchase trade-offs, not reasons for suitability.

How it fits the Mercian choice system

  • Fit: 30-inch, 32-inch and 34-inch lengths.
  • Bend: Standard and Pro shape were used across the size range, so check the remaining variant.
  • Response: Softer — prioritising touch, control and forgiveness.

Construction and feel

100% fibreglass construction gives a softer response and high tolerance of imperfect contact. Construction choice is about feel and usable response, not a player-level ladder.

Trade-off: confirm fit and bend first, then compare legacy price and remaining stock.

OUTDOOR STICK GUIDANCE

Check the player requirement before you buy.

Outdoor choice starts with fit and the hockey you actually play. Bend, shape and construction should explain a useful difference, not create a good-better-best ladder.

Is the length workable? What hockey must it support? Would a specialist shape help the way you play? Which response can the player use?

Position, player level and carbon percentage can help describe a stick, but none of them automatically decides what suits you.
