Mercian produce sticks and equipment for every standard of hockey player from international athletes to juniors just starting out in the game. The following guide shows you how to select the ideal Mercian stick. There are several types of stick: Composite, Wood, Znake, Indoor and the Junior Rebel Range.

Composite sticks are made from advanced materials formed within a mould. These materials include Kevlar, Graphite and Fibreglass. The composites are split into two ranges, the ultra advanced M-Tek Range and the powerful Black Widow Range.

Wooden sticks are made by bending, shaping and forming carefully selected mulberry and other woods into the desired shape. The shaped stick can then be reinforced as appropriate. Wooden sticks offer great feel on the ball for all levels of player.

Our Znake range has been developed to offer great feel and control on the ball. The Znake range includes sticks for both outfield players and goalkeepers.

Indoor sticks can be wooden or composite and are light to assist the high speed hand movements of the indoor game.

The Rebel Range was developed especially for young players, meaning the sticks offer great value, powerful graphics and superb feel to help develop skills.

Sticks are available in different lengths, weights and bends. Selection of the perfect stick is down to personal preference, budget and ability.

CRAZY BEND 1

A 19mm bend stick with a greater head weighting than the CB2, better for players with a desire to hit more than flick.

CRAZY BEND 2

A 24mm bend stick, in line with FIH regulations, evenly balanced with a good pick up and ‘turn-over’, brilliant for flicking and dribbling.

CRAZY BEND 3

A 24mm stick with a late shaft bend, a superb enhancement for drag flicking and aerials.

M-TEK ULTRA ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY

This represents a highly specialised range of products, currently incorporating the 3 ultra-high specification sticks. It will be developed over the coming months to include cutting edge development products and limited edition lines.

MERCIAN COMPOSITE TECHNOLOGY

We use mixtures of Kevlar, Graphite and Fibreglass fused with advanced resins in all our composite sticks. The sticks are developed and tested to give great feel while offering maximum energy transfer.
