PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT

1. Participants shall at all times conduct themselves fairly and properly on the field of play and any part of a hockey venue or accommodation.  No participant may conduct himself in a manner or commit any act or omission which may prejudice the interest of hockey or which may bring the game into disrepute.

2. The following shall be regarded as conduct which is improper, unfair and unacceptable:

- Verbal / physical abuse or hostility towards any other participant, person or any other member of the public.
- Disputing / protesting, reacting in a provocative or disapproving manner toward any decision made by an umpire or official in an inappropriate way.
- Use rude or abusive language, hand signals or gestures, which may cause offence.

3. The consumption of alcohol or use of other prohibited substances by players is strictly forbidden.

4. Participants will respect others’ property and immediately report any accident or damage.

5. Players must notify any personal injury, medical problem or potential of risk or harm to Coaches / managers.  Outfield players are strongly advised to wear gum-shields and finger / shin-guards during both training sessions and matches.

6. Goalkeepers must wear secure protective headgear, chest pad, kickers, leg guards and groin protector.  Goalkeepers are also strongly recommended to wear other protective equipment to protect the body including padded shorts, hand protectors and protectors for thigh, upper arm, forearm and elbow

7. Players will act as ‘good sports’ at all times and remember that they are acting as ambassadors’ for their Sport.
